Supv Counseling Psychologist (Substance Abuse)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for medical positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position requires supervising of counselors and clerical positions, assigning responsibilities and functions, reporting to the Local Command Group in the Army Substance Abuse Program to include rehabilitation, family counseling, educational and vocational problems related to substance abuse.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Counseling Psychologist (Substance Abuse): Degree: Two full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience developing and administering a comprehensive, multi-modality substance abuse treatment program; AND directing strategic, regulatory, and financial clinical operations as well as planning work of subordinates; AND leading workforce optimization, compliance initiatives.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
