SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST)

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one year of experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately.

Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.

Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3.

Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5. Eligibles on this list will be given automatic consideration for position vacancies occurring during the six months period following the close of this announcement. l. Cost of living allowances (COLA) vary from island to island. COLA is subject to change without notice. m. Current T32 Technicians who have permanent tenure will occupy this position as a Temporary Promotion Year to Year not to exceed 5 years.

Temporary promotion may be converted to a Permanent Promotion without further competition if the position becomes available. Selectee may return to his/her former graded position when the Temporary Promotion is no longer needed and may be effected at any time without adverse action procedures. n. T5 Employees with permanent tenure will lose their permanent status if selected and will be converted to 32 Indefinite.

If selected Indefinite tenure appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Indefinite tenure appointments will be eligible for health and life insurance coverage and will be covered under a retirement system. o. New Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite tenure appointments do not serve a trial period.

Indefinite tenure appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Indefinite tenure appointments will be eligible for health and life insurance coverage and will be covered under a retirement system.
